The Sac & Fox Tribe of the Mississippi in Iowa is the only federally recognized Indian tribe in Iowa. Our tribal name is Meskwaki ("Red Earth People").
The Tribe has more than 1,400 enrolled tribal members and employs more than 1,200 people. There are over 8,000 acres of land owned by the "Meskwaki Nation" in Tama County & Palo Alto County in Iowa.
