As the conflict in Syria rages on, BBG journalists are providing in-depth coverage of the crisis for audiences in the region and around the world.

Stationed at the Syrian borders with Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and Turkey, reporters for Alhurra and Radio Sawa are covering major developments in Syria, including the plight of the Syrian refugees and the volatile security situation in the region. Alhurra’s correspondent on the Turkish border has crossed into Syria to interview residents in the Idlib province about the violence and destruction plaguing their towns.

Additionally, Alhurra and Radio Sawa’s newscasts and talk shows regularly feature eyewitness accounts from the Syrian cities, including Aleppo, Damascus and Homs via Skype or phone interviews. The networks have also conducted interviews with opposition members such as Abdel Basset Sayda, president of the National Syrian Council; former Syrian Vice President Abdelhalem Khaddam; and Rami Abdel Rahamn of Syrian Observatory.

Voice of America News maintains extensive coverage of the region for its language services. VOA correspondents Al Pessin (pictured, top) and Harry Ridgewell are reporting from the borders of Lebanon and Turkey, where Syrians are fleeing to escape the escalating violence of clashes between the Syrian army and rebel forces in their country.
