    • You say you can't find where student loans would be constitutional? Well first off Roscoe, the US Supreme Court has never ruled that the federal student loan program is unconstitutional and yeah..you don't sit above the USSC. Secondly lets examine the US Constitution for a second: Preamble to the US Constitution: We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence,[note 1] promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. Now unless you're going to try arguing that the Preamble to the US Constitution isn't part of the US Constitution or that helping our children be able to afford to go to college isn't a thing that "promotes the general welfare" then you have a big fat problem. Sorry, its time, Roscoe, that you and your party quit whoring yourselves out to the 1% and instead work for the American people as a whole. And do you honestly think the United States will be improved if its children aren't able to afford to go to college or other post secondary education sites? Tell me..how has the lack of education worked out in such places as Afghanistan? It's time, Roscoe, that you and your party stop spending our money on wars and tax cuts to the rich and instead spend our tax money improving our lives. That's your job and if you can't do it because of your stupid ideology then resign because your job isn't to make our lives worse.

      Dear Rep. Bartlett, I teach Holocaust history to university students in California. If you would like to learn the reasons why the Holocaust occurred, I invite you to participate in my class. You are welcome to sit in anytime - all I require is that you prepare for class the same as my students by completing the reading assignments.     The federal government is borrowing 40 cents of each dollar it spends. The defense budget is only 1/12 of the federal government's current budget deficit which tops $1 trillion annually. Since President Obama took office, our National Debt has increased $5 trillion to more than $16 trillion. President Obama has offered no plan to significantly reduce the size of the budget deficit to slow our exploding National Debt if he's re-elected. Can we, let alone our children, afford four more years of President Obama abdicating the responsibility to lead and prioritize spending?

  6. Railroad and transportation buffs --- The Brunswick Railroad Museum is hosting "Journey Stories," a special traveling exhibit from the Smithsonian starting tomorrow and running through Oct. 12. I'll be there tomorrow, Fri., Aug. 31 at 10:00 am for the ribbon cutting. I hope you'll stop by to see it. It's located downtown at 102 West Potomac Street.

  10. Tomorrow I'll have the privilege of presenting WWII Veteran Claude Miller the medals that he earned during the war in a brief ceremony at my Frederick District Office. One of my highest and most humbling honors as a Member of Congress is the opportunity to thank veterans and their families for the service and sacrifices they endured to preserve the liberty that we are privileged to enjoy as Americans.
