Florida man indicted on child pornography charges

MIAMI - A Sunrise, Fla., man was indicted Jan. 29 on charges of possessing and distributing child pornography. The case was jointly investigated by the following agencies: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the FBI, Broward County Sheriff's Office (BSO), Sunrise Police Department and members of the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Randy L. Eisner, 38, was originally arrested on Jan. 28 and a criminal complaint was filed against him in federal court on Jan. 29.

According to court documents and statements, undercover law enforcement officers downloaded numerous images depicting child pornography from Eisner's computer via a peer-to-peer file-sharing program, and they received similar images via instant message from Eisner.

Law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Eisner's home, where they discovered a DVD that, when examined by ICE forensic agents, revealed numerous images depicting child pornography.

Court documents also show that Eisner was a Cub Scout leader. According to the complaint affidavit previously filed, Eisner engaged in inappropriate contact with minors during the last three years.

ICE's involvement in this joint investigation was part of Operation Predator, a nationwide ICE initiative to identify, investigate and arrest those who prey on children, including human traffickers, international sex tourists, Internet pornographers, and foreign-national predators whose crimes make them deportable. Launched in July 2003, ICE agents have arrested almost 12,000 individuals through Operation Predator.

An indictment is only an accusation; a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
