Welcome to the Office of Community Liaison Website
The NIH is proud of its membership in the Bethesda
community and devoted to remaining a good neighbor. As the
Acting Director for the Office of Community Liaison (OCL), I plan to keep
building upon the valued relationship that currently exists between
the NIH and its neighbors.
I encourage you to explore this website
and to avail yourself of the many opportunities to take part in
NIH programs and services. The OCL has a long-standing partnership
with the Bethesda and surrounding communities, and this site and
the OCL staff are dedicated to serving the interests and well-being
of our neighbors. You can make use of the OCL and its website by:
- Remaining informed about the NIH's involvement in the community through the Community Liaison Council (CLC), which is comprised of individuals from the NIH, citizen associations, and local government. In its monthly meetings, the CLC discusses issues that affect the community. To see a listing of the current members, click on the CLC Members link.
- Staying in contact with the NIH through the OCL. This office is a link to the NIH and provides access to a wide variety of community planning material, including master plans, traffic mitigation information, and environmental reports, to name a few. To view a listing of these resources, click on the links to the left.
As you explore this site, I hope that you will find
the information helpful and of interest. As always, we welcome
your input in making this site more community-oriented. Please
feel free to contact our office with your comments or concerns
via e-mail at odocl@od.nih.gov.
