Keeping America Competitive: Addressing the Skills Gap in Manufacturing Atlanta, GA June 24, 2012
On June 25, 2012 ODEP and its Alliance partner, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), co-hosted an innovative and interactive discussion with more than 300 human resource professionals in the manufacturing industry sector during SHRM’s annual conference in Atlanta, GA. This half-day solution-oriented summit provided a learning opportunity for the SHRM and ODEP leadership and offered effective practices, resources and support to help combat the skills gap facing many organizations.
ODEP 10th Anniversary Celebration: Real People. Real Impact. Washington, D.C. December 14, 2011
Fall 2011 marks a decade since Congress's establishment of ODEP, which created for the first time a permanent focus on disability within the context of DOL's work.
On December 14, 2011, Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis and Assistant Secretary of Labor for Disability Employment Policy Kathleen Martinez hosted a celebration of this milestone at the U.S. Department of Labor's Frances Perkins Building in Washington, D.C. Featured speakers included government, disability and employer community leaders, who joined Secretary Solis and Assistant Secretary Martinez in reflecting upon ten years of ODEP's work.

Add Us In National Diversity Forum Washington, D.C. August 4, 2011
The Add Us In National Diversity Forum, a follow-up to the Add Us In Expert Strategy Meeting held in February 2011, brought together Add Us In grantees and disability and diversity experts from across the nation to discuss how inclusive policies and practices implemented by large businesses can be adapted for use by small businesses.

The Financial Services Workers with Disabilities: Career Trends and Current Practices Summit convened more than 50 employers and human resources professionals from within the financial services sector and disability community leaders to discuss ways to increase ways to increase the hiring, retaining and advancing of qualified workers with disabilities in the financial services industry.

HIV/AIDS Employment Roundtable Washington, D.C. April 8, 2011
The HIV/AIDS Employment Roundtable brought together more than 50 diverse stakeholders to discuss ways to improve employment outcomes for people with HIV/AIDS. The event marked the first time ODEP gathered thought leaders to focus on this issue.

ADA 20th Anniversary Celebration Washington, D.C. July 30, 2010
The U.S. Department of Labor's ADA 20th Anniversary celebration marked the induction of two disability leaders, Justin Dart, Jr. and Helen Keller, into the Labor Hall of Fame, as well as speeches by officials from the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and Congress.

Lights, Camera Access! brought together representatives from the entertainment and disability advocacy communities to discuss strategies for improving representation in terms of both number and accurate portrayal of people with disabilities in the arts and media.
Now is the Time! Federal Hiring Event for People with Disabilities Washington, D.C. April 26, 2010
Now is the Time! was a first-of-its-kind Federal hiring event for people with disabilities in Washington, D.C., cosponsored by ODEP and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM). More than 5,000 people submitted resumes to apply to attend the event, and 35 Federal agencies were represented.
A New Day: We're Listening/Listening Tour Dallas, Philadelphia, Chicago, San Francisco, Atlanta, Boston January 2010
"A New Day: We're Listening" was a series of six Listening Sessions to collect information and comments about best practices and key issues to be addressed by Federal workforce systems regarding the employment of people with disabilities.
