Data for individual MPOs were collected from the MPOs, state DOTs, and other government agencies. Data were received in a variety of geospatial data formats. The Federal Highway Administration and BTS collected the individual MPO files, digitized raster images where necessary and reformatted geospatial data files to fit into a national database.
