Brigadier General Augustis A. Riemondy is director of supply and services, Deputy Chief of Staff, Systems and Logistics, Headquarters U.S. Air Force.

General Riemondy was born in 1918, in Temple, Pa., and attended public schools in Fleetwood, Pa. He graduated from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pa., in June 1941 with a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering and a Reserve Officers Training Corps commission. He entered active duty in July 1941 as a second lieutenant.

His initial assignment was at Wright Field, Ohio, with the 4th Air Depot Group where he served as assistant engineering officer. In January 1942 he went to the Southwest Pacific where he served as squadron commander, assistant chief of maintenance and commander of the 4th Group.

He returned to the United States in February 1946, and was assigned as maintenance technical inspector, Headquarters Air Materiel Command, Wright Field, Ohio. He entered the Air Force Institute of Technology, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, in September 1948, and graduated in 1950 with a bachelor of science degree equivalent.

General Riemondy was transferred to Headquarters U.S. Air Force in September 1950 as division chief, Office of Assistant for Development Programming, Deputy Chief of Staff, Development. In September 1954 he was assigned as director of maintenance engineering, Central Air Materiel Area Europe, and also as commander of the 3131st Maintenance Group, Chateauroux, France.

Returning to the United States in June 1957, he returned to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, as chief, Plans and Production Division and acting deputy director of maintenance engineering, Headquarters Air Force Logistics Command. He was assigned as director of materiel management and deputy commander, Middletown Air Materiel Area, AFLC, at Olmsted Air Force Base, Pa., in March 1962.

In July 1966 General Riemondy was assigned as director of materiel management, Ogden Air Materiel Area, AFLC, Hill Air Force Base, Utah, where he was responsible for the management of the Minuteman and Titan and Bomarc missile systems; Genie air-to-air rocket; and F-101, F-4 fighter and reconnaissance weapon systems.

He assumed his present duties as director of supply and services, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Systems and Logistics, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, in February 1968. In addition, he serves on the Armed Forces Exchange and Motion Picture Services Board; President's Committee on Purchases of Blind-made Products; Military Services Ammunition Allocation Board; Air Force Spares Steering Group; Inventory Aircraft and Missiles Pricing Board; and is chairman for the Permanent Air Force Uniform Board.

His military decorations include the Legion of Merit and the Army Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster.
