Maj. Gen. Brian P. Meenan is the mobilization assistant to the Commander, Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill. Air Mobility Command's total force team conducts combat delivery, strategic airlift, air refueling, aeromedical evacuation and special mission operations to provide America's Global Reach.

General Meenan earned his commission from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1976. On active duty he was a T-38 instructor pilot for students from Iran, Kenya and Saudi Arabia. His service in the Air Force Reserve includes duty as a C-130 pilot and a variety of assignments at the major command, Air Staff and numbered air force levels. In 2001, he was Chief of the U.S. National Air Traffic Services Cell in Washington, D.C., which supported military and civil agency efforts to close, secure and re-open the National Airspace System during and after the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, General Meenan served on the USAFE Air Force Forces Command staff as Assistant Director of Air, Space and Information Operations. In 2009 General Meenan deployed to Southwest Asia as the Director of the U.S. Central Command Deployment and Distribution Operations Center. Prior to assuming his current position, he served as mobilization assistant to the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C.

In his civilian occupation, he is employed as a commercial airline pilot. General Meenan has more than 2,000 military flight hours and 18,000 hours total flying time.
