  1. Today, it's important that we not only remember the victims and their families, but that we honor our men and women in uniform who continue to fight for our freedoms. I took some time in Washington to make care packages for our troops this ...
morning. Thank you for all that you do to protect our liberties and keep us safe at home. We are always praying for you and I work each day in Congress to ensure that you have all of the resources you need to fulfill your missions and return home safely.

  3. This morning we were reminded once more of what a dangerous world we live in, and the risk many Americans take to serve our country abroad. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those we've lost in Libya.

  5. This morning my colleagues and I came together on the Capitol steps for a beautiful tribute to those lost and the heroes of 9/11. May we always remember the victims, their families, our heroic first responders, and the bravery of our service men and women, who continue to fight for our freedoms every single day.

  6. Eleven years ago, our nation was forever changed in a single, fateful morning. We will never forget where we were when we heard the news that our nation had been attacked. Each morning since our strength and national resolve have been tested. Today, I join my fellow Americans in prayer and remembrance as we honor the memory of those who lost their lives in those horrific attacks. I offer my deepest and most heartfelt thanks to the hundreds of thousands of Americans and their families who have defended our country these past eleven years. We must remember the brave men and women still serving overseas and reaffirm our unwavering support for them and their mission.

  10. Just posted more pictures from my week in the district. August continues to be a great listening opportunity in the community. Thanks for all of your feedback and input on how we can bring jobs to our district and revitalize our local economy. This remains my top priority in Congress. Looking forward to meeting with more of you this month and taking legislative action on your behalf when I return to Washington in September.

Thank you to representatives from Single Mother’s Outreach, Domestic Violence Center, Santa Clarita YMCA, Child and Family Centers, and Circle of Hope for all that you do to keep our families safe, raise awareness, and save lives. 12. Happy to report that after sending in letters and urging the Forest Service to update its firefighting tactics, they have finally decided to resume its nighttime firefighting program to battle out-of-control wildfires in Southern California...
. Each year wildfires threaten our homes, businesses, families and livelihoods. It is gravely important that we learn from past fires to make the changes necessary to help our firefighters in the future. We appreciate the efforts to address changes to policy that are needed to save lives. Allowing nighttime flights will help firefighters better do their jobs and fight these dangerous fires.
