Texas Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (TXESGR) is a Department of Defense agency, led and operated by dedicated volunteers and staff whose mission is to gain and sustain the active support of America's employers for the men and women serving in the Guard and Reserve by increasing awareness of federal and state laws, promoting compliance through education, recognizing supportive employers with an awards program, providing informal mediation services to resolve disputes related to an employee's military service obligation, and aid Guard and Reservists in obtaining career employment opportunities.

September 20, 2012Smith Protective Services Receives Above and Beyond Award and Signs Statement of Support for the National Guard and Reserve
Fort Worth, Texas – Dr. Jerry Icenhower, Chairman of Texas Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), announced that Smith Protective Services signed a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve during an August 14th ceremony on behalf of their employees and five Texas office locations. During the signing ceremony, Smith Protective Services also received the prestigious ESGR Above and Beyond Award for providing support well beyond federal legal requirements to their employees who currently serve in the National Guard and Reserve.

September 17, 2012Austin Elks Lodge #201 signs Statement of Support
(Austin, Texas) – Dr. Jerry Icenhower, Chairman of Texas Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, announced that Kathleen Davies, Exalted Ruler of Elks Lodge #201, signed a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve on August 27, 2012. Major General Joyce Stevens, Commander of the Texas Army National Guard, officiated the signing ceremony which occurred in front of a small audience of Texas National Guardsmen and Austin Elks Lodge members at the Texas Military Forces Museum located on Camp Mabry, Austin, Texas.

September 17, 2012Employees Serving in the National Guard and Reserve Continue to Benefit from Insurance Auto Auctions Support
Austin, Texas – Dr. Jerry Icenhower, Chairman of the Texas ESGR Committee (ESGR), joined John Kett to celebrate the grand opening of IAA’s Austin, Texas facility and to reaffirm IAA support of Veteran and Reservist employment. Mr. Kett signed a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve during IAA’s September 11th Patriot Day observance which occurred during a pause in their live and live-online salvage auto auction to buyers representing 110 countries who can access the auction in six languages.
