  • OIA Maintenance Assistance Program – The Department of Interior, Office of Insular Affairs is requesting funding proposals for its FY 2013 Maintenance Assistance Program. MAP funding is used to support, develop, improve, and institutionalize infrastructure maintenance practices in the insular areas. Application deadline for FY 2013 funding is June 3, 2013.   • OIA Technical Assistance Program – The Department of Interior, Office of Insular Affairs is requesting proposals for its FY 2013 OIA Technical Assistance Program which provides grant funding for short-term projects proposed to meet the immediate needs of the insular areas. Funding priorities include projects that promote the development of the insular areas in the following categories: accountability, financial management, economic development, training/education, energy, management control initiatives, safety, emergency, historical and cultural preservation, capacity building and health initiatives.   • Fellowships for Graduate Environmental Study – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, as part of its Science to Achieve Results (STAR) program, is offering Graduate Fellowships for masters and doctoral level students in environmental fields of study.   • America's Media Makers – The National Endowment for the Humanities is soliciting applications for the America’s Media Makers development and production grants. Development grants enable media producers to collaborate with scholars to develop humanities content and to prepare programs for production. Production grants support the production and distribution of digital projects, films, television programs, radio programs, and related programs that promise to engage the public.   • National Digital Newspaper Program – The National Endowment for the Humanities is soliciting applications for the National Digital Newspaper Program that will create a national digital resource of historically significant newspapers published between 1836 and 1922, from all the states and U.S. territories. This searchable database will be permanently maintained at the Library of Congress and be freely accessible via the Internet. Closing date is January 17, 2013.   • Digital Humanities Implementation Grants – The National Endowment for the Humanities is soliciting applications for the Digital Humanities Implementation Grants. This program is designed to fund the implementation of innovative digital-humanities projects that have successfully completed a start-up phase and demonstrated their value to the field. Projects might enhance our understanding of central problems in the humanities, raise new questions in the humanities, or develop new digital applications and approaches for use in the humanities.   • Commercial Motor Vehicle Operator Safety Training – The Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is soliciting applications for the Commercial Motor Vehicle Operator Safety Training grant program. CMVOST is intended to expand the number of commercial driver’s license holders possessing operator safety training in order to reduce the severity and number of crashes on U.S. roads involving commercial motor vehicles.   • Brownfields Area-Wide Planning Grant – The Environmental Protection Agency is soliciting applications for the Brownfields Area-Wide Planning Grant. This EPA grant funds projects to facilitate community involvement and conduct research, training and technical assistance necessary to develop area-wide plans and implementation strategies to facilitate Brownfield’s assessment, cleanup, and subsequent reuse.   • Agriculture in the Classroom Challenge Grants – The USDA, National Institute of Food and Agriculture is soliciting applications for the Secondary Education, Two-Year Postsecondary Education, and Agriculture in the K-12 Classroom Challenge Grants.   • America's Historical and Cultural Organizations – The National Endowment for the Humanities is soliciting applications for the America's Historical and Cultural Organizations planning grants that support museums, libraries, historic places, and other organizations that produce public programs in the humanities. Planning grants support the early stages of project development, including consultation with scholars, refinement of humanities themes, preliminary design, and audience evaluation.   • Preservation Technology and Training Grants – The National Center of Preservation Technology and Training is seeking proposals for innovative projects that advance science and technology for historic preservation.   • Community Resilience Innovation Challenge – The Federal Emergency Management Agency is soliciting applications for the Community Resilience Innovation Challenge.
