The Film Office markets the entire state as a location to retain an industry that directly spends over a $100 million into local economies which create high paying quality North Carolina jobs in the film, television and commercial industries.
During the recruitment process, the Film Office's main tools are a 25 percent refundable tax credit backed by extensive North Carolina support services, and a workforce of more than 3000 local professionals. The Film Office also retains and manages a location database with thousands of locations around the state and works in tandem with various regional economic development offices.
The Film Office handles all aspects of production from assisting productions to set up in North Carolina, to successfully negotiate and solve issues that arise during the making of film, to the point the project is distributed to help leverage use the success as an activation tool in promoting North Carolina tourism.
