Regional Field Coordinators

Regional Field Coordinators (RFCs) are essential to the success of the National Institute of Corrections' Regional Training Initiative (RTI). They are the volunteers who provide training to correctional agencies in the four core regions of RTI around the country. Each region has a team of 10 RFCs who represent state, local, and federal agencies in the disciplines of community corrections, jails, prisons, and juvenile justice.

Apply for a Regional Field Coordinator Position

NIC selects new RFCs on a regional basis, depending on the discipline group openings and the region's team member needs. We accept applications year round.

To apply, complete and submit the RFC application form. It will require a statement of endorsement by the applicant's chief executive officer. This endorsement must be provided for the applicant to be considered for selection.

RFCs who would like to volunteer for consecutive years must reapply each year using the RFC application form. These applications must also include endorsement by the applicant's chief executive office. This is done to ensure that all repeat applicants will have ongoing agency support in carrying out their duties as RFCs.

How Are Regional Field Coordinators Selected?

RFCs are ideally juvenile or adult agency training directors, administrators, coordinators, or senior trainers with experience in developing, delivering, and/or coordinating training in their home agency.
