The Southern Delivery System (SDS) moved one step closer to completion Friday with the signing of the Record of Decision by the Bureau of Reclamation.

“This long-awaited milestone clears the way for local governments in Colorado to move forward with a water project that promises benefits for water users in Colorado Springs, Fountain, Security, and Pueblo West. A secure and safe water supply is vital for the future of Colorado Springs. I applaud the Colorado Springs Utilities for their commitment to improving Fountain Creek and I look forward to working with them as they move forward on this vital project.” – Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05)

In addition, Colorado Springs Utilities released the following statement in regards to Congressman Lamborn’s efforts on SDS:
