in reducing police officer misconduct; whether some types of early warning
systems are more effective than others; what impact early warning systems have
on the departments in which they operate; and whether these systems have
unintended and undesirable effects.
Policing on American Indian Reservations takes a broad look at policing in Indian
Country to better understand the many arrangements for administering
reservation police departments, develop an initial assessment of the challenges
facing Indian policing, and identify policing strategies and approaches that
might be successful in responding to the growing crime problem in Indian
Country.
Privacy in the Information Age, A Guide for Sharing Crime Maps and
Spatial Data is designed to
provide guidance to law enforcement personnel, researchers, and others who are
creating and sharing crime maps. The
guide contains real-life examples and illustrations contributed by various
police departments that demonstrate a variety of techniques that promote
privacy, crime mapping, and data confidentiality.
