Ip et al evaluate the effects of intravitreal ranibizumab on diabetic retinopathy severity over time in 2 phase 3 clinical trials of ranibizumab for diabetic macular edema.
To test the hypothesis that the amount and distribution of glaucomatous damage along the entire retinal ganglion cell–axonal complex (RGC-AC) can be quantified, Lee and colleagues obtained SD-OCT volumes from 116 eyes in 58 consecutive patients with glaucoma or suspected glaucoma, performed layer and optic nerve head analysis, and mapped the RGC-AC connectivity.
Retinal neovascularization is driven in large part by vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) is a mediator of intraocular fibrosis in proliferative vitreoretinopathy. Sohn et al examine the relationship between CTGF and VEGF in proliferative diabetic retinopathy after VEGF inhibition.
Huang and colleagues describe a large family with a novel CHM mutation.
