PRINTKent State University opens its May 4 Visitors Center on Saturday, October 20 featuring a long-term exhibition about the 1970 shooting of Kent State University students by National Guardsmen within the context of national anti-war protest, politics, and youth culture and subsequent litigation about First Amendment rights. Using images, artifacts and multimedia, the center's exhibits tell the story of the decade leading up to May 4, 1970, the events of that day, the aftermath and the historical impact. Implementation of the exhibition was supported by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
