Guidance on Post Employment Matters and Negotiating for Future Employment

This Guidance explains post employment restrictions that apply to former Department of Transportation (DOT) employees. This Guidance also explains how to comply with restrictions relating to negotiating for future employment. The purpose of this Guidance is to assist employees in avoiding conflicts of interest that can arise in negotiating for future employment and in working on matters involving DOT after leaving Federal service.
Employees who are leaving or are contemplating leaving Federal service are strongly encouraged to talk with an Ethics Official.
