Why Career And Technical Education Programs Are So Important: Congratulations to CPI Graduates!

On June 7, 2011, history was made at the Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology (CPI).  Two young ladies – Tricia Reich and Anna Krishak – graduated from their Automotive Technology Program at the highest level possible offered by CPI.  These non-traditional students in the Automotive Technology program earned their diploma along with state, national, and worldwide certifications in their field of study. 

As some may know, in Congress, I serve as co-chairman of the Congressional Career and Technical Education Caucus (CTE), a group of members seeking to broaden awareness in Washington of the importance of career and technical education. Earlier today, I took to the House floor to offer Tricia and Anna’s story as yet another example of the critical role Career and Technical Education can and does play in helping individuals remain competitive in a constantly changing workforce environment.  Tricia and Anna, through their success in their chosen industry, represent CTE with pride and distinction. Congratulations, young ladies, for these tremendous achievements!
