Stennis (CVN 74) is underway in the Andaman Sea during exercises with the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73). Ships and aircraft of the George Washington and John C. Stennis carrier strike groups are conducting exercises to increase interoperability, readiness, and the capability to respond quickly to various potential crises in the region, ranging from combat operations to humanitarian assistance. 121012-N-LV331-409 INDIAN OCEAN (Oct. 12, 2012) Sailors assigned the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Mobile Bay (CG 53) move food and supplies off the flight deck during a vertical replenishment with the Military Sealift Command fast combat support ship USNS Bridge (T-AOE 10). Mobile Bay is a part of the John C. Stennis Carrier Strike Group and is returning to the U.S. 7th and 5th Fleet areas of responsibility four months ahead of schedule in order to maintain combatant commander requirements and Navy assets in the region.
