Vicenza goes on scoring spree against Hohenfels

VICENZA, Italy - Terell Gandy ran for 173 yards and three touchdowns Saturday to fuel the Vicenza Cougars to a 50-24 Division II-South victory over the visiting Hohenfels Tigers.

Jerome Famer, who carried the ball 12 times for 134 yards, and Ethan Fullmer, who gained 80 yards on just six rushes, each ran for two TDs as the Cougars rebounded from the previous week’s 36-19 loss at Ansbach.

Vicenza (1-2-1 overall and 1-2 in II-South) also benefited from an Adrian Guerrero field goal.

Sophomore running David Vidovic burned the Vicenza defense for 259 yards rushing, a total which included a 61-yard TD run, according to Vicenza coach Adam Ridgley. Kordell Craft plunged for two Tigers’ scores, and Aaron Wright tallied on an 80-yard kick return.

Malcolm Harris, Bryce Fisher and Fullmer each posted four solo stops for Vicenza, which is scheduled to entertain unbeaten Naples on Saturday.

Hohehfels (1-3, 1-2) is ticketed to host Ansbach on Friday night.
