October 11, 2012 Light initial attack continues throughout the states. A handful of large fires continue to burn in Colorado, Idaho, Minnesota, Montana and Washington. The majority of these fires are no longer threatening structures. Weather conditions also continue to aid firefighters with their suppression efforts. Weather: A storm system will move into southern California, producing scattered showers and wet thunderstorms over the southern half of the state into central Nevada. It will be windy and warm across portions of the southern plains, including Kansas and Oklahoma. Scattered showers with light high elevation snowfall can be expected in Montana east of the divide while widespread rain covers portions of the Great Lakes. |
