JONES CONTINUES THE FIGHT AGAINST OBAMACARE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today the House passed legislation to repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.  Congressman Walter B. Jones (NC-3) stood with his fellow Republicans, as well as a few Democrats, to vote in favor of H.R. 6079, legislation to fully repeal this massive government takeover of health care.  The bill passed by a vote of 244-185.

“Today Congress listened to the American people and again voted to repeal this law in its entirety,” said Jones.  “This law is not the way to fix the problems in our health care system.  The majority of the people in this country want health care to be controlled by the patients and the doctors, not by the increasingly invasive federal government that continues to tax hardworking Americans.”

This week Congressman Jones also urged House leadership to block any legislation that provides or allows funds to implement Obamacare through the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Health and Human Services, or any other federal entity.  In a letter to Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor, Jones and his colleagues also requested that the necessary legislative steps be taken to immediately rescind all Obamacare implementation funds.

Congressman Jones has voted against Obamacare each time it was considered in the House and is a cosponsor of every piece of legislation that has been introduced to repeal the massive health care law.
