Smarter Regulations
Small businesses are the backbone of our economy. With over 29 million small businesses, if just half hired one new worker we would be able to strengthen our economy and put people back to work. But right now they are burdened with uncertainty, red tape, and unknown regulations. We must implement smart regulations that get rid of red tape so that businesses are empowered to get moving again.
Below are actions I have taken to implement smarter regulations:
- Reforming the regulatory process to reduce red tape and implement smarter regulations. (H.R. 10, H.R. 527, H.R. 3010, H.R. 2587, H.R. 3094, H.R. 872, H.R. 910, H.R. 1633, H.R. 4, H.R. 1315, H.J. Res. 37; Status - Passed by the House of Representatives)
- Co-sponsored legislation that protects American jobs and relieves the burdens on job creators by creating clearer, smarter regulations. (H.R. 1744, H.R. 1206, H.R. 2204, H.R. 3146; Status - Introduced in the House of Representatives)
- Toured a Glenview manufacturer and held a roundtable with local business leaders about the impact of regulations on job creators.
- Hosted a Congressional hearing in Chicago on regulatory reform.
- Spoke with several local Chamber of Commerce groups about the need for economic certainty and smarter regulations.
