Abstract

Before beginning an investment in home energy upgrades, homeowners need access to reliable information and an idea of potential costs pertaining to their energy-saving retrofit projects. This program will introduce home energy evaluation tools and analysis strategies, helping consumers make cost-effective decisions about energy improvements. Attendees will come away with a better understanding of consumer-friendly financing options and receive guidance in the use of energy software tools that can estimate financial and energy savings, returns on investment, and even make personalized recommendations for improvements.

Topics of discussion will include existing home energy and air quality issues, an introduction to Home Performance with Energy Star, BPI and the HERS score, analysis using REMRate Software, utility disaggregation and prioritized scope of work, and an overview of jobs created and financing options.

This presentation is being led by Bruce Glanville, an Energy Star accredited HERS Rater, a USGBC LEED for Homes accredited Green Rater, and BPI accredited Building Analyst Envelope Professional.
