Employee Assistance Program

Services | Frequently Asked Questions | Resources | Confidentiality

At certain points in our lives we can be overcome by life situations such as the death of a loved one, depression, substance abuse, serious illness, financial, work and career problems or marital and family related difficulties. Usually we can handle things on our own. However, sometimes these problems reach a level which could impair work, home-life or our general sense of well-being. When you are not sure where all the pieces of the puzzle go, or it seems like the problem or pain will never subside, the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) counselors can assist you by helping you plan for a healthier and more productive life.

The EAP has experienced counselors that provide professional & confidential short-term counseling, information, support groups, management consultations, referrals and many more services to DOJ employees and their families. Counselors are located in Washington, DC and throughout the U.S. Communication between the EAP and an employee is confidential and this understanding is the backbone of the EAP. Participation in the EAP will not, in and of itself, jeopardize an employee's job security or promotional opportunities.

Instead of letting challenges accumulate into crises, let us help you develop the skills to minimize or even prevent problems. Contact the EAP for confidential short-term counseling information and referral and any social services needs.
