Summertime in New Jersey
I was honored to be part of the ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil the brand new multi-purpose room at the Paramus Veterans Home. The new facility has a capacity of 720 people and will be used for daily activities, events, concerts and dinners. I know these well-deserving veterans will enjoy this new facility for years to come.
As always, I wanted to get my finger on the pulse of North Jersey small businesses, which brought me to Automated Media Services in Allendale and Allendale Machinery Systems in Upper Saddle River. Both companies are facing similar difficulties trying to manage their businesses during the economic downturn. They are, however, confident that their innovative ideas, creativity and hard work will help them to persevere.
I have looked forward to the annual New Jersey State Fair in August since I was a child. I got the chance to check out the sights and sounds and speak to constituents who came out to enjoy the festivities. While there, I had the honor of presenting Montague native Louis Avenatti with the 2011 Sussex County Senior of the Year award.
Finally, I would like to thank everyone for the recent input they have given to me and my offices. I could not be prouder to represent the hard-working men and women of New Jersey’s 5th District in the United States House of Representatives.
Sincerely,
Scott Garrett
