The Information, Planning, and Consultation System (IPAC System) gives you access to crucial information when you need it . . . BEFORE you have designed your project. Once a project is designed, it can be very difficult and expensive to modify. That is why we created IPaC. Now, you can visit our website to find out if there are any U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service trust resources, including endangered and threatened species, in your proposed project area before you begin to design. In addition, you can get information about a species and its needs as well as measures you can take to help protect and conserve the species when designing and constructing your project. This up-front information reduces surprises and helps you make better informed design decisions early in the design process, when there is more flexibility to make minor modification with minimum disruption of your project goals. And, because we have begun to incorporate species recovery recommendations into IPaC, you have the opportunity to become part of the solution by taking steps that help recover species. |
