Dear Fellow Coloradan,
Last year, I hosted my first Colorado Capital Conference in Washington, D.C. With speakers from Energy Secretary Steven Chu to Senator Lisa Murkowski, the conference was an opportunity for citizens from communities across Colorado to engage with the decision-makers in Washington and give them a taste of the Western perspective.
The conference was such a success that I've decided to host it again this year. With help from Colorado Mesa University and the University of Colorado, 100 Coloradans will have the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C., June 5-7, to learn how they can influence the important decisions facing our country.
Coloradans from all political viewpoints and backgrounds are welcome to apply. Click here to learn more about the conference and submit your application.
Government is a two-way street; your thoughts matter as I shape my own decisions on policy, and it's important to me to provide ways you can connect with your federal government.
The Colorado Capital Conference will be a chance to learn about the political process, hear directly from national leaders, interact with other civic-minded Coloradans, and take home ideas about how you can effect political change.
Additional information for the Colorado Capital Conference can be found online at http://coloradomesa.edu/capitalconference/. Applications must be submitted online or postmarked by March 16, 2012. We will be announcing attendees on April 2, 2012.
Warm regards,
