Mission:
The mission of the Office of Vessel Activities is to eliminate the operation of substandard vessels in U.S. waters by effectively administering, managing and implementing commercial vessel safety, security and environmental protection compliance programs in support of applicable international and domestic standards. The Office of Vessel Activities establishes policy and guidance for the enforcement of international treaties and domestic regulations by developing advanced strategies that cultivate the implementation of marine safety, security and environmental protection standards for all vessel operations and compliance.
