  2. I'm thrilled to have made history today by becoming the longest serving female Pennsylvania Member of Congress in the history of the Commonwealth. And, the new Congress is the largest group of women ever!

Breaking glass ceilings is never easy, but as I enter my 5th term in Congress my commitment and passion for making a difference in the lives of Pennsylvania families is stronger than ever.

If you believe, as I do, that we must elect more women to office share and like this post to highlight the importance of electing more women!

  3. Here is my interview from last night during the important vote on averting the 'fiscal cliff'.
  4. I am on the House floor right now participating in debate on a bill that will avert the fiscal cliff and the harmful economic consequences that might have resulted.

By passing this bill, Congress provides economic security and certainty for middle class families.

This legislation, which passed the Senate with overwhelming bipartisan support, permanently extends tax cuts for 99 percent of America...n families and small businesses, protects seniors’ access to their doctors, makes vital investments to grow our economy and sets us on a path toward greater deficit reduction.

As we close out this Congress, we have reached resolution on a major issue facing this Congress and our nation: fairer tax policy for our families.

There is more work to do in the next Congress. Reaching bipartisan solutions will not be easy.

But, tonight demonstrates that it can be done. We must find common ground for our country.

  5. The House should have a vote on the bipartisan Senate passed fiscal cliff bill.
  6. We need Speaker Boehner to bring us back, to really work this out.

Let's make something happen here - That is what the American people are asking us for.
