Udall Encourages Coloradans to Support, Celebrate Our Public Lands
Mark Udall issued the following statement today encouraging Coloradans to celebrate National Public Lands Day on Saturday, Sept. 29, and take advantage of the opportunity to give back to our public lands:
"Colorado's parks form the foundation of our quality of life and many of our businesses. As an avid outdoorsman, I appreciate the need to enjoy our parks while also ensuring that they remain vibrant places for future generations to enjoy. The National Public Lands Day is a great time for Coloradans to visit, enjoy and even give back to the landscapes that define our great state."
National Public Lands Day will be a fee-free day for many national parks and public land sites. On this day, visitors are encouraged to visit and even volunteer to clean up our public lands. As a reminder, all active military personnel can visit our national parks for free at any time. More parks and volunteer information can be found by visiting the U.S. Department of the Interior's website.
