The Expert's Answers
The Preeclampsia Foundation is fortunate to have access to and the support of numerous health professionals both nationally and internationally. Our members forum includes a section called, Ask the Expert where members of our medical board answer questions on preeclampsia and other hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. While all of our experts are specialists in the field of preeclampsia, each may offer different advice. This site exists so you will have the most comprehensive information available to discuss with your own health care professional.  For questions for our experts, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Please note: It is extremely important to remember that this service is not provided to replace the care that you are receiving and is not intended as medical advice but rather the expert opinion of one professional. You should never make medical decisions based on the guidance of the Ask the Expert column without the support and approval of your health care professional. When in doubt--contact your doctor. It is important to be able to speak freely with your health care provider.

Ask the Experienced
Many women find a great deal of helpful information through our Ask the Experienced thread also in the Forum. This area does not represent the collective medical opinion of our medical board and one should remember that this information in particular is anecdotal and not from the Preeclampsia Foundation nor represents a medical opinion. It does address specific experiences (one woman may share what treatment her physician used) and it includes broader issues--including making the decision to try to have another child. This section includes posts from women who know as much or more than some physicians to those who do not understand the basics. Regardless of the level of feedback--it is nevertheless NOT medical advice and women and their partners should be very clear on this distinction.
