H. R. 4057, The Samaritan Initiative Act

As Alaska’s representative in Congress for over 34 years, I have sponsored and cosponsored many bills and resolutions in support of affordable housing. During the 108th Congress, I co-sponsored H.R. 839, The Renewing The Dream Tax Credit Act, allowing income tax credit for the provision of homeownership and community development. I also co-sponsored H.R. 1276, the American Dream Downpayment Act, providing down payment assistance toward the purchase of single family housing by low-income families who are first-time homebuyers. I believe home ownership is of crucial importance and I will continue to work towards assisting Alaskans in that regard.
Although Congress did not act on this legislation during the 108th Congress, I will be sure to keep your views in mind during the 109th Congress.
