ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY - Arlington, Virginia. Open daily. BUREAU OF ENGRAVING AND PRINTING 14th and C Streets, SW, DC. The Bureau prints stamps and paper money here. Tour tickets are available during the morning hours and are distributed on a first come basis, first serve basis. No admission charge. Self-guided tours. FORD'S THEATER AND LINCOLN MUSEUM - 10th Street between E and F Streets, NW, DC. General tours conducted daily, from 9: 00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except on Christmas Day. JOHN F. KENNEDY CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS - Potomac waterfront, NW, DC. Regular tours are conducted by Friends of the Kennedy Center volunteers. Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on weekends. Tours depart from the parking plaza on Level A, and feature the Hall of States and Hall of Nations, the Center's main theaters, and dozens of paintings, sculptures, and other artworks given to the Center by foreign countries. U.S. CAPITOL BUILDING - Capitol Hill, DC. Beginning Friday, March 21, 2003, all public tours of the United States Capitol have been suspended. This has been done to provide the highest level of public safety for those who work in and visit the Capitol. Staff-led tours that have already been scheduled will take place. Public lectures in the Courtroom every hour on the half-hour from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., except when Court is in session. The Court is usually not in session during July, August and September. WASHINGTON MONUMENT - On the Mall at 15th Street, NW, DC. Hours for the Washington Monument are from 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.; closed December 25. Reservations for the Washington Monument may be made between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. by calling 1-800-967-2283 or over the Internet. Those making advance reservations will be charged $1.50 service fee per ticket, plus a $.50 handling fee per order. Free tickets are distributed for that day's visit from the kiosk on the Washington Monument grounds at 15th Street and Madison Drive on a first-come first-served basis. THE WHITE HOUSE - 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, DC. The White House Visitor Center is open seven days a week from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and features many aspects of the White House, including its architecture, furnishings, first families, social events, relations with the press and world leaders, as well as a thirty-minute video. Allow between 20 minutes to 1 1/2 hours to explore the exhibits. The White House Historical Association also sponsors a sales area. Virtual tours of the White House are online.
