DoD Instruction 1342.22, "Military Family Readiness," July 3, 2012 This Instruction establishes policy guidance, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures for the implementation, oversight, accountability, staffing, and funding of Family Centers across the military. Personal financial management is listed among the baseline services to be provided at all DoD Family Centers.
DoD Instruction 1342.27, "Personal Financial Management for Service Members," November 12, 2004 This Instruction implements policy, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures for the education and training of military members in personal financial management.
DoD Directive 1344.09, "Indebtedness of Military Personnel," October 27, 1994, certified as current December 8, 2008 This Directive provides policies and responsibilities governing delinquent indebtedness of military personnel and prescribes policy for processing garnishments to the pay of military members to satisfy judgment indebtedness.
DoD Instruction 1344.12, "Indebtedness Processing Procedures for Military Personnel," November 18, 1994 This Instruction implements policy, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures for governing delinquent indebtedness of service members.
Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) Memorandum, "Initiation of the Department of Defense Financial Readiness Campaign," May 5, 2003 This Memorandum announces the DoD Financial Readiness Campaign to improve the financial assistance available to service members and their families.
USD(P&R) Memorandum, "Department of Defense "USA 4 Military Families" Initiative," September 17, 2004 This Memorandum announces the DoD's "USA 4 Military Families" Initiative, an effort aimed at partnering state governments, nonprofit organizations, and industries to assist service members and their families in addressing concerns and needs.
