Admissions : Apply_Process

Applying to College is a Big Step

We want to learn about your talents, achievements and goals. In turn, we hope you explore everything that West Point can offer you. We sincerely appreciate the effort you will be making to help us understand who you are.

To Ensure a Smooth Process:

  • Know what to expect by reviewing requirements and timelines.
  • Stay organized and double-check deadlines.
  • Contact your recruiting officer if you have questions.
  • Encourage your parents to contact West Point parents for additional insights.

Schedule A Visit

Visit West Point! It is the only way to know for sure whether this is the place for you. A visit to West Point through the Admissions Office always includes lots of time with current cadets, so you learn first hand about the experience.

Keeping You Informed

West Point has a rolling admissions policy. The earlier you apply, the earlier you will be notified of a decision. We begin notifying applicants as early as November of your senior year. Most offers are sent by mid-April of your senior year.

  • Letter of Assurance - Applicants who most likely will be accepted, but still need to complete their file.
  • Offer of Admission - Fully-qualified applicants who have completed their file.

Tips:  Start requesting information the spring semester of your junior year. Follow up with Admissions to make sure they have received your letters or to give us more information. If you miss the nomination deadlines, no extensions are granted.
