Conversely, Department procurement officials can learn more about the diverse small business resources available to meet their procurement needs.
Department of Labor agencies buy a wide variety of goods and services valued at approximately $1.9 billion each year. Each DOL agency has a responsibility for procuring its own goods and services in support of the agency's mission.

Please join Jay Williams, Director of the Office of Recovery for Auto Communities and Workers and Deputy Director of the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, and the U.S. Department of Labor’s Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships for a symposium on the role of job clubs and career ministries in getting Wisconsinites back to work.
The November 8 symposium will: 1) spotlight the work of local job clubs, including how to start and effectively run these groups; 2) provide information on the resources offered by the workforce investment system; and 3) explore partnerships among job clubs, workforce agencies, employers, and others. Speakers and panelists will include job club leaders, nonprofit and government officials, and employers. Director Williams will deliver keynote remarks.
Please attend if the issue of jobs is important to you or your organization, if you are a workforce development/human resources professional or volunteer, if you are currently coordinating or interested in starting a job club or career ministry, and/or if you are interested in collaborations and partnerships.

NACOSH was established under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 to advise the secretaries of labor and health and human services on occupational safety and health programs and policies.
The NACOSH Effectiveness Measures Work Group was established to provide recommendations for measuring the effectiveness of OSHA’s strategies, programs and activities. The tentative agenda includes a report from the work group; remarks from Dr. David Michaels, assistant secretary of labor for occupational safety and health, and Dr. John Howard, director, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health; and comments from the public.

ACCSH, established under the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act and the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, advises the Secretary of Labor and Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health on construction standards and policy matters.
