Internships
The Overseas Private Investment Corporation maintains a robust internship program, offering challenging opportunities to more than one hundred college and graduate students every year. Two categories of internships are available – General and Legal -- each with their own distinct requirements and application process. We offer unpaid internships for the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters. All positions are at OPIC's office in Washington, DC. Internships typically last about 12 weeks. Departments can usually accommodate students' scheduling needs. Starting and ending dates are somewhat flexible, but start and end dates must be established prior to the candidate's start date.
OPIC selects approximately 30 interns for the Fall and Spring semesters, and approximately 35 for the Summer semester.
Applications for a given internship period will be considered during its recruitment period only. (For example, applicants may not submit an application during the Spring recruitment period, and specify in their cover letter that they wish to be considered for a Summer internship.) Applications will only be considered for the advertised recruitment period as indicated on the online “OPIC Internship Application.”
