Department of Labor

The Open Government Plan for the Department of Labor satisfies the majority of the OGD requirements. The plan makes significant amounts of information publicly accessible and sets out a clear timetable for placing even more information into the public domain. In addition, the plan opens a number of new platforms for potential collaboration both internally and externally.

The only areas where the Department scored less than satisfactory involved a lack of specificity. The plan lacks details describing how the department will increase collaborations with private stakeholders. Also, with respect to its flagship initiative of an online enforcement database, there is a noticeable absence of specifics regarding how the agency intends to measure transparency and information use, expand the public dialogue and seek to improve upon this flagship initiative.

If you any think part of the agency's plan is impressive, or you have concrete suggestions on how the agency could improve its plan, please share your ideas with us using the form at the bottom of the page.
