Tucson, Arizona – Congressmen Ron Barber from Arizona’s 8^th District attended the joint Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) and Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) job fair held at the Desert Diamond Casino in Tucson, Arizona on September 27, 2012.  Congressman Barber demonstrates support for service members through his work with military leaders at Davis-Monthan, Fort Huachuca and the 162nd Fighter Wing of the Arizona Air National Guard.

Melissa Dickens and Shannon Rudisill, Supervisors at Coastal Federal Credit Union in Raleigh, NC received Patriot Awards for their continuing support of PFC Rebecca Franklin, USAR. "They always understand when I have to be off for training", stated PFC Franklin. "Wish everyone has supervisors like I have".

Carol Nease, Supervisor, Information Technology Services, Raleigh, NC received the Patriot Award for her ongoing support of Capt Michael Henderson, ARNG, North Carolina. "Ms Nease takes time out of schedule to facilitate pay and benefits due employees", stated Capt Henderson. "She goes the extra mile in ensuring an employee's position is retained even during reductions in force and cut backs". Capt Henderson is currently deployed to Kuwait with the HHC 505th Combat Engineers.

On Thursday, August 23, 2012, Ryan M. Morin, Owner/CEO of Custom Living Quarters was presented with a Patriot Award. Mr. Morin has supported PFC Eric M. LaPlante from day one of his choice to serve in the North Carolina Army National Guard in the 1450th Transportation Company, Lenoir, North Carolina. PFC LaPlante stated "I would give less that 24 hours' notice that I had to make a trip to the MEPS station the next day and Mr. Morin never batted an eye. I was a little nervous when I came home from training that my job just wouldn't be there in this economy but not only did he give me my job back but found a way to keep my replacement also."

On October 3, Kangaroo Express celebrated the overwhelming success of its Salute Our Troops® fundraising campaign at PNC Arena in Raleigh, N.C. The summer-long campaign raised $3.17 million, directly supporting the USO, Wounded Warrior Project™, the Enlisted Association of National Guard of Tennessee Auxiliary Soldier Airman Relief Fund Inc., Florida National Guard Foundation, Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation, North Carolina National Guard Soldiers and Airmen Assistance Fund, South Carolina Military Family Care Association, and the United States Veterans Corps based in North Carolina.

Gary Sinise, the star of CSI New York recently received the ESGR Seven Seals Award from Missouri ESGR for his support of members of the Guard and Reserve. Sinise also starred in the movie "Forest Gump" where he played "Lieutenant Dan."
