Priorities for the Training Program
Introduction
The Training Program for Federal TRIO Programs (Training Program) is designed to assist TRIO personnel in improving the operation and success of the TRIO projects. Whether you are new to the staff of a project funded under the Federal TRIO Programs or have been involved with a TRIO project for many years, there may be a training session that can assist you in doing your job more effectively. We encourage you to look at the information provided here and to share it with your colleagues.
In order to assist you in determining which training would work best for you, we have organized the training schedule by "priority." The priorities for training were legislated by Congress and determined by the Department of Education (Department) to be the most appropriate in meeting the needs of TRIO personnel. The Department awarded grants to organizations and institutions of higher education to conduct the training sessions. These organizations and institutions have developed training that is appropriate for all levels of personnel and for personnel working in every TRIO program. We are hopeful that you will find a priority training that will suit you and your colleagues.
To learn specifics about a scheduled training, including how to register, please contact the person listed for the organization or institution conducting that training -- we have listed the contact information at the end of this page. Each organization and institution conducting the training has a Web site where you will find additional information on the individual training session. If you have additional questions about the Training Program, please contact the program lead, Suzanne Ulmer, by e-mail at suzanne.ulmer@ed.gov or by telephone at 202-502-7789.
The trainings listed below are being paid for with Federal TRIO Programs' resources. It is imperative that if you register for training that you actually attend the training or give ample notification that you will not be there. We will ask for a list of no-shows from the training organizations and these no-shows will risk not being able to attend another TRIO-sponsored training event.
