Make sure it’s accurate…
Using a complete and correct address is the best way to get it there fast. Use ZIP Code™ + 4 when you can.

… in the right place…
Print the delivery and return addresses on the same side of your package, parallel to the longest edge.

… and easy to read.
Print or type clearly with a pen or permanent marker so the address is legible from an arm’s length away. Avoid commas, periods, or other punctuation—it helps your package speed through our processing equipment.

What should you mail it in?

Letters, Bills, Documents, Greeting Cards
Send these in standard white, manila, or recycled paper envelopes. If you need more protection, use bubble-lined, padded, or waterproof envelopes. Be sure to use durable envelopes and packing materials to prevent damage.

Express Mail® and Priority Mail®
You can purchase Express Mail or Priority Mail services online and at the Post Office™. If your package exceeds the maximum size (length + distance around largest point) of 108", it must be shipped by Parcel Post® and isn’t available for online shipping.

Envelopes and boxes of various sizes are available at no additional charge at your Post Office and online for items sent using either of these services. You can only use the free supplies for these services.
