The roundtable has hosted multi-stakeholder meetings on indicators, innovative initiatives, and research needs since December 2002. Meetings have been held in California, Colorado, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Over 700 people from over 250 organizations have participated in these meetings.
Presentations have focused on regional needs and priorities; climate change impacts on water; federal and state agency activities; corporate research, needs, and roles; municipalities and water suppliers; ecological and environmental aspects of water resource management; and issues related to water and rural communities. Two meetings were held with a major focus on the connections between water and energy issues, one in Washington and one at the National Renewable Energy Lab in Colorado. In recent meetings SWRR has seen federal agencies shift from calling for indicators to producing sets of indicators and increased industry concern about water resource sustainability. Over the years there has been greater recognition of ecosystem water needs.
Proceedings were published for most of these meetings along with PowerPoint presentations from the speakers. Please see the following web pages for details at http://acwi.gov/swrr/p&p_library/index.html or http://acwi.gov/swrr/Rpt_Pubs/index.html.
Proceedings for the 2010-2012 meetings have been posted here.
