Release Information
What:
The nationwide 2010 Census Portrait of America Road Tour will make a stop in Charlottesville, Va., home of the University of Virginia. Congressman Tom Perriello, State Sen. R. Creigh Deeds, State Del. David Toscano and Mayor Dave Norris team up with Cavaliers men's and women's basketball players to highlight the importance of completing and mailing back the 10-question census forms when they arrive in mailboxes March 15-17.
The Road Tour's national vehicle, nicknamed "Mail It Back," began its cross-country tour last week from New York City. At each event, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the 2010 Census through an educational, engaging and interactive experience that brings the census to life — creating a "Portrait of America." The Charlottesville stop will include a variety of activities for the entire family.
