Sentencing Brings an End to Virginia Family’s Insurance Fraud Scams
RICHMOND, Va. – The final chapter was written for one of the most notorious white collar crime families in southwest Virginia when they were sentenced this month in U.S. District Court in Abingdon, Va. for their role in an arson for profit scheme. After a 19-year-old woman identified Burgwin, 20, of Wilkinsburg as the man who shot her in July, Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers posted the case on its Web site and alerted area media and law enforcement agencies.

State Farm steps up to help prevent future wild fires in California
Bakersfield, Calif. (Dec. 4, 2007) - To help firefighters keep communities safer from wildfires, State Farm is contributing $250,000 total to CAL FIRE and to the California Fire Safe Council. CAL FIRE will use the $150,000 donation to purchase firefighter protection gear to help improve their safety and the California Fire Safe Council will use the $100,000 donation to help educate the public about fire protection.
