Annual Reports

As required by Section 706 of the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 (Public Law 95-87), OSM submits to the President and Congress an annual report describing the operations of the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement.

This report has been submitted to the President and Congress each year since 1978. Beginning in 1994 and continuing through 2005, OSM included in its annual report the financial reporting requirements of the Chief Financial Officers Act of 1990.
