Broadening Opportunity Programs
Broadening Opportunity Programs (B.O.P.) are governed by AR 621-7, Army Fellowships and Scholarships and AR 621-1, Training of Military Personnel at Civilian Institutions. Information about specific programs is linked below.
If your studies require you to go Temporary Duty (TDY) funded by a government agency, please forward the requested information IAW with the TDY Format.
If your studies require you to go Temporary Duty (TDY) funded by a NON-government agency, please forward the requested information IAW with the TDY Format.
If your studies require you to go Permissive TDY (PTDY) please forward the required information IAW the PTDY Format.
If you are required to submit a Financial Statement, please forward the requested information IAW the Financial Statement Format.
If you obtain a degree from a foreign university, in order to place that degree onto your "official record" it must be evaluated to our U.S. system. To support a request for a code on a foreign school or training; we require a signed memo from the Education Services Officer (ESO) and/or ACES Counselor noting that this evaluation is an official document and was performed by an approved agency. Please note that approved agency must be a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES), http://naces.org/members.htm or from the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), http://aacrao.org/Membership/Member-Guide.aspx.
If you intend to apply for a fellowship or scholarship that is not listed below, you must forward your request to the U.S. Army Human Resources Command (HRC), IAW the Application Procedure.
