TACOM COMMANDER BEING PROMOTED

WARREN, MI – Army Brigadier General William "Mike" Lenaers, commanding general of the TACOM Life Cycle Management Command (LCMC) in Warren, MI, will be promoted to the rank of Major General during a formal ceremony being held at TACOM at 9:00 a.m. Friday, April 15.

Presiding over the ceremony will be General Benjamin Griffin, commanding general of the U.S. Army Material Command. Lenears has been commander of TACOM since September 2004. He previously served as Chief of Ordnance and Commanding General, U.S. Army Ordnance Center and Schools. Lenaers has commanded at every level from company through Corps Support Command, and held a wide variety of important staff positions.

The TACOM LCMC consists of the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command, Program Executive Office Combat Support & Combat Service Support, Program Executive Office Ground Combat Systems, and Program Executive Office Soldier. It unites all of the organizations that focus on soldier and ground systems throughout the entire life cycle. The TACOM LCMC's mission is to provide and sustain mobility, lethality, and survivability for soldiers, other services, and our Allies through ground combat, automotive, marine and armaments technologies. It supports over 3,500 fielded systems and over 29,000 components that make those systems work.
